This shaded-relief map of Alaska was based on a 300m Digital Elevation Model (DEM) produced by the U.S. Geological Survey. The Scale of the map is 1:2,500,000. The azimuth angle was set to north (0 degrees), the sun angle 25 degrees, and the Z value equal to 2. Many terrain features are visible including active faults, volcanoes and glacial deposits. The Nation Weather Service upper air and surface stations are overlaid.
